About Polk County Concrete Slabs
We help property owners planning a slab reach an independent local concrete contractor. We don’t pour concrete ourselves.
Who runs it
Polk County Concrete Slabs is run by Texas Homeowner Referral Service, operated by a Polk County resident. It’s an independent referral service. We don’t form, pour, or finish concrete, and we don’t do dirt work.
How a call works
Tell us what you’re building, roughly how big it is, and where the land stands: pad ready, cleared, or still in trees. Your call or form goes to the independent local concrete contractor we currently work with for that kind of project in your area. That contractor looks at the site, quotes the job, schedules it, and pours it. You deal with them directly.
How we get paid
Local professionals pay us to receive calls from this site. You never pay us anything, and using this site doesn't change what the pro charges you. The contractor is the one paying us, so you should weigh what they tell you the same way you would with any contractor: get it in writing and compare.
Why this site exists
A lot of slab projects around here start on raw acreage, and the slab is rarely the first decision. If the property will have a private water well, Polk County requires at least 1 acre per septic system, compared with ½ acre where central water is provided. The well, the septic system, and the building all need room, so it pays to plan where each one goes before the pad is built. National cost calculators don’t mention any of that. Our site prep guide and slab thickness guide try to cover the questions that come up before the truck shows up.
How we choose who gets calls
{{VETTING_CONCRETE}}
Texas doesn’t require a state license for concrete contractors, so there’s no state license to verify. That puts more weight on the written estimate, insurance, and recent local work. Our Protect Yourself page lists what to ask for.
What we don’t do
- No reviews or ratings. We don’t score contractors.
- No price guarantees. The contractor sets the price.
- No warranties. Any warranty on the slab is between you and the contractor.
